June Kit Reveal!!

June is here!!  Father's Day is just around the corner and before we know it, school will be out for summer!  This month's scrapbook kit is perfect for documenting all of life's happenings.   Simple Stories did a great job combining the neutral earthy tones with some brights and bolds which makes for a fun and vibrant kit.  We are encouraging you to use this kit to do some journaling to help you document your photos.  To help you with this, please check out the Scrap~tures Challenge Blog  starting on the 15th, when Laura-Lee will be posting some fantastic classes based on the Life Documented kit.  Each week, for four weeks she will be posting a class based on a photo technique and a journaling idea.  You definitely want to check this out!  I am sure you will enjoy it.
Laura-Lee did this super fun layout using the kit.  It is so well put together, simple and fun.

I myself enjoyed using this kit.  I love the rugged, yet flourishy textures with the neutral and bright and bold colour combination.  This paper line is so well done.

Wally created this layout with this month's exclusive sketch designed by Kristine Davidson...I really like what she chose as the theme for her layout.  So fun!

Elcrafty worked with the card kit this month.  The Prima Marketing Reflections line makes such gorgeous cards.  We threw in some Inkadinkadoo foam butterflies stamps as well as some Inkadinkadoo Flourish stamps which compliment the paper line well.  Here is one of the simply beautiful cards Ellen created with the kit...

To view the rest of the kit reveals, please visit the current kit albums in the Scrap~tures gallery and if you like what you see and would like to purchase one of the June kits, you can check them out in the Scrap~tures store.

The Copics Craze

Have you joined the band wagon yet?

Copics are the latest and greatest craze in the world of cardmaking.  Did you know that Scrap~tures started including Copic markers in the card kits starting with the April Kit ?

We throw one in the kit, and offer two coordinating shades for optimal colour blending.  Our subscriber price on our card kits are only $35.00 and an extra $10.00 (optional) for the extra two coordinating shades.

Check out the Copics website. For more info, tips and technique suggestions on these amazing tools.

Here are a few samples I found in our gallery as created by our members.  I am amazed at how professional the cards look by using the Copics.

Resin Flowers

It's really interesting to see trends in scrapbooking come and go.  Remember the cupcake phase, or when metal embellishments were all the rage?  Well, I am seeing a lot of resin flowers lately and I found this article on the Scrapbook Update website to be very interesting...

resin flowers

I have included some Maya Road resin flowers in the May Card Kit.  Here are some awesome ideas that I found loaded in our gallery using these pretty little things...

All of these beautiful cards were created by Darcie (mom0308) using the May Card Kit.

Website Down

We are having some technical difficulties with the website which includes the store, gallery and forums. We have contacted the web host who is looking into the matter. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Scrap~tures Captures....

With the nice early summer weather and finally being able to enjoy some sunny days I have been sitting in the mornings enjoying my coffee on the front porch.  Looking around I can see and hear the beauty of early summer, the flowers so pretty and the pretty sound of the birds singing...everything is so pretty it sort of makes me feel like Snow White!!  Hahaha!!  So I thought I would have a look through the gallery to see if I can spot some pretty things to capture and share with you here.

Let's start with this absolutely beautiful layout by Jennifer (Wustaz).  Jennifer has a great eye for beauty and captures it in her projects so well.

I just adore this pretty card from Ruby (Inspired Scrapper).  You can just tell in her projects that Ruby loves pretty things!

Also captured from the gallery is this pretty layout by Tracy M.  I just love how she prettied things up by stitching the flourishes and popping some of the flowers..

I also found this pretty pretty card from Jenn S.  She did a great job colouring in the image and adding the soft layers of flowers...well done!

Please share your projects with us by registering in our gallery.  You can be captured too!!

Exciting News!!!

When I took over 2 Gals Scrappin' I was so excited to play with the kit club business for a while.  I had so many ideas for what to do with the club that I just had to get them out somehow.  Purchasing 2 Gals allowed me to do that and more!

For the past year and a half I have had so much fun with this club and putting my ideas into fruition was so rewarding.  I have to say that I could not have possibly done it without the help of the Scrap~tures Team; Wally, Kelly, T, Elcrafty, Laura-Lee and all of you who had your turn being our guest of the month.

But who am I to keep all that fun to myself?  Now that I have fulfilled my passion for running a kit club, it is time for me to pass it on to someone else....

Please join me in welcoming Christa Trafford as the new owner of Scrap~tures Kit Club!!!

Christa has been a club member for quite some time now and has always been a big participant in the forums.  I have gotten to know her well enough to know that being the owner of Scrap~tures is perfect for her!  She has the support she needs, the talent, the passion for the hobby and so much more that I am confident she will do amazing things with this club!

Christa will officially start with the July kits but is already getting in on the action.  She is open to any questions or comments you may have for her.  Feel free to contact her at christa@scraptures.ca.

I am still hanging around for this month so you aren't rid fo me just yet!

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for being a part of the club, your support has meant the world to me and I hope that you stick around to see what Christa has in store for you.  I am sure you won't be disappointed!

Thanks again to each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart..
