Tuesday's Temptation

Well here we are...week 3 and I created another layout using the Bo Bunny "Mamma Razzi 2" line. More pics from our NYC trip and guess what???? I used the sketch from the first 2 weeks layouts as my inspiration. I did not follow it exactly this time but I liked the idea of it and it worked well using some of the strips off the "B" side of a couple of the papers. Here is a look at the sketch again and my layout.

P.S. if you are a candy addict like me...FAO Schwartz is a must see in NYC!!!

Remember the sketch I used for last weeks layout?? Well, I used it again for this weeks layout. It was super easy and this time I flipped it on the side. I thought I was done with my NYC pictures but then I found some that I missed. So here is my layout for this week. Don't forge the sketch was from Studio Calico....

So I got the April kit Bo Bunny Mamma Razzi 2 and I dug right in. I have always liked this line, so when the second one came out I ordered it right away. I love the muted colors, the photography theme and the bold colors on the B Side. I still had some picture of my NYC trip so I dug around Pinterest on Amy's site again and found a layout that jumped out at me right away. So here is the original layout and my take on it....stay tuned next week for a little twist on this.

Tuesday's Temptation- A Day Late

Better last than never....here is Amy's last Tuesday's Temptations...."Here is a layout I did with my girls, my great aunt and myself!! The photo was taken two years ago and although I don't "love" the picture of me, we don't often see "grandma".

I used what was left of the paper in my kit. I fussy cut the clock and then coated it with glossy accents. The butterflies are a Martha Stewart punch and then I used the "rock candy" stickles on them. Everything was distressed and inked. I have been wanting to try the rip with the ribbon for awhile. Next time I do it I will use more holes and a longer ribbon!!!"

Tuesday's Temptations

Alright, so I decided to have some fun with the kit and do something different---wall art! So my challenge to you is this, make something specifically to display! (doesn't have to be a canvas or be big, just something that you can put out to enjoy). and don't worry, next week we will go back to normal layouts!!

I used a canvas(just a cheap one from the dollar store, I think it is 8x10 or so). There is a layer of the patterned paper underneath(although it kind of disappeared as I got carried away!). I used one of the squares for the title. Explaining the whole process may take a bit of time of get kind of confusing, so I made a video! Follow the link below to see it!

I LOVE the colours in this months kit! Soft and muted. I used the Straw CS as a base and then cut down grey PP to 11x11".   Then I used the Prima distress tool to "mess" up the edges, which I then  inked.  I used a punchenilla stencil  and then also splattered some green  mists over the page as well. Next, up I cut some of the other 2 PP's and "messed" up and inked  their edges. I pulled a doily(probably bought at the dollar store) out of  my stash and used some blue mists to give it some colour. The flower  chipboard pieces were in the kit, I embossed a pattern over the  green one then sprayed it, and stamped a script stamp over the blue  one(after I misted it) then added a Prima clock face(after toning down the  white with some TH distress ink). The squares on the pattern paper are perfect for titles and I had no problem picking which one went with this layout of my daughter(on the left) and my two nieces! Let's see how you can "mess" up with the kit!!!

This month's SB kit Be You by Fancy Pants is super fun to work with. I had to search for some pictures that I thought would work with it, I am running out of things to scrap....anyway, I used everything from the kit and went to town on the layout. I did stitching with the twine, doodling, added bling, flowers, buttons, fussy cut the bird out, added banners, gave the strip at the bottom a decorative edge with a punch....I don't think there is much more I could have done to this layout. So my challenge this week is to do a layout and use at least 4 techniques and embellishments, without losing focus on the pictures..... whatda think????  I like it!

Tuesday's Temptations

Well this month has been chocked full of cards, but with Amy's last week this week, she did a double page layout. She used the last of the March SB kit Imaginisce-Sole Sisters. Amy used her Copics to colour the Technique Tuesday tile strip to match the colour in the papers. She also created another pin wheel flower and a frame to highlight the word at the bottom. Here is my last card using March's card kit. I used my scallop circle punch and cut some of the patterned paper. I then used the circle stamp on one circle and a sentiment in the center. The sketch I used for this one was from Pagemaps 2. A nice simple card.

Well this week I decided to showcase the lovely work of Chelle. She has been working with the March Card Kit and as always did some amazing work. Here is what she said..."I used a sketch for this card (as usual). Instead of using paper from the paper pad (which I love) I cut up the larger sheets. Of course, lots of inking on the card.
My challenge is to make a 6x6 card, 2 rectangles and 2 circles and 3 pieces of ribbon on your card."

WOW, march came fast, here it is the 6th and we are expecting sprin like weather tomorrow. Our guest of the month for March is stuck@home (A.K.A. Amy) and she gets to play with this months scrapbook kit Sole Sisters by Imaginisce. Here is what she said this morning..."So here is my first ever challenge!! Yeah.

I used the March Scrapbook kit to create this layout of my oldest daughter.
The only thing I added was a piece of generic black cardstock to mat my polka dot paper onto.

I made the embellishment the same way I would make a flower.
*Take a strip of 12" cardstock or pattern paper, trim it down to .5-1.5 inches wide (you can punch one side with a border punch to add detail)
*I use my scor pal and scor every 1/4 inch but you dont have to, you can just fold a little edge over, then flip the paper over and fold it again, and repeat until you reach the end of the paper strip
*glue the ends together
*the next part is a bit tricky, I cut a small piece of scrap paper and put strong glue on it, then position my strip of paper(now a circle) over it then use your fingers to push the center down and make the flower.
*I then added paper circles for a center, but you can use anything(buttons work great!)

They are very easy to make, I actually used two strips of paper and made it wider then normal so it would come out soo big."
