Have you all noticed that every time you log on to Facebook, pick up a magazine or read a newsletter from the school that every day - week - month has a notable cause or issue? It's getting to the point where I feel we should just declare, "be aware of everything at all times" and move on. For July I have already been alerted to over 20 of these important FYIs!
July is National Grilling month, blueberry month, hotdog month, ice cream month...(are we sensing a theme here?) Then there are the public service awareness issues: home safety month, national vehicle theft protection month, national make a difference to children, cell phone courtesy month (I'm not even kidding) and bioterrorism/disaster education and awareness month (I hope the Summer camp counsellors have been well trained).
Call me cold-hearted if you will but I will admit that I am becoming desensitized by all of this. (No disrespect to those of you who have loved ones battling hemochromatosis or myasthenia gravis...) All joking aside, my scrapbooking related question to you is this: Are their any causes that you have scrapbooked in the past or plan to in the future? This year my brother shaved off an epic afro that took 2 years to grow and raised over $2000 for the Relay for Life. This will be fun to scrap! I noticed that several scrapbooking companies have gone pink for breast cancer awareness and Stampin'Up has a stamp set that has proceeds going to a charity. This past Winter I went to an amazing crop that was a Heart & Stroke fundraiser hosted by "Scrappin' With Passion". What causes does your hobby support?
