Tuesday's Temptations

Well this is a bonus week. Usually we only have 4 weeks of layouts or challenges but this week Debbie did a bonus item for us using some of the November Card kit-Lost and Found Christmas. Here are a few pics and the instructions....

1. I started with 3 sheets co-ordinating card stock 12 x 12
2. trim the middle sheet to 11.75 x 11.75 on 2 sides only
3. trim the top sheet 11.5 x 11.5
bottom ( outside of card is red card stock , then the yellow for the middle then green for the top layer )
4. score each sheet using the 4 inch score mark - on all sides so you wind up with 9 squares on it
5. Cut out  the corner pieces -
6.save them to layer on co-ordinating pieces.
7., 8, 9 , 10, 11, 12 Flip the sheets over and using another co- ordinating paper decorate the flaps as well.
13, Embellish the flaps using pictures, embossing, stamps, stickers, jhewels, whatever you like.
14. Find something for the centre of the top card and tape in place.
Tape, the middle section of each card base - and secure.

To Make a top
Cut a piece of card stock 7 1/8 x 7 1/8
score each side at the 1 1/2 in mark
cut the score lines from one score line to the next , so you have 2 long sides and 2 short sides. Fold over and secure each side with tape .
You should have what looks like a box lid .
Decorate as you see fit.

15. The finished box
The rest of the pictures can be seen in the gallery

Finally Friday November 25th

This weeks sketch comes from scrapbookingabout.com  I am playing catch up with 6 years of pictures. This week I used papers from the November Card Kit Lost and Found Christmas line. I used the Trees paper for the background and a strip off the Merry Paper. I added a piece of cream ribbon and some brads and pearls. The journal tag was a cute added touch. What do you think?

Tuesdays Temptations-More Diversity

I had a great month using the Echo Park Apothocary Line. I loved both sides of the papers. I did another non-Halloween layout for this weeks layout. The hint of orange on the Zodiac paper picked up the orange in the life jacket. I used some black and white flowers I had on hand and the butterflies are a two sided sticky transfer that you can flock, but I chose to add Zing black glitter to instead and heat with my heat gun. It has a real shimmer to it, very pretty. So my challenge this week is to try to use orange in a non Halloween way on a layout.

Finally Friday Nov. 18th

Well this week I was surfing the net and came across Scrapbook.com, and this layout jumped out at me for the one 5 x 7 picture I had. I was looking for something that complimented the picture I had as well as the bits of the November SB kit. I tried to download the original layout, but again, my technology challenged brain could not figure out for love nor money how to save it so it would post. So here is a link to the layout and my version of it.
My challenge this week is for you to alter or distress a piece of your background paper for a layout.

Tuesday's Temptations

How is everyone doing this fine mild day in November? We are having lovely weather here in Southern Ontario, it is hard to believe we are actually this far into fall. I have been trying out a few things with the October SB kit-Apothocary Line by Echo Park. I have done a Halloween and non-Halloween layout. This week I used some bits and pieces form the leftovers from the kit and created 2 Halloween layouts, but I have not had my pictures printed yet. So here they are..sans photo's...but you get the idea.

Since I have 2 kids, I did 1 layout for each child's album.

Finally Friday Nov. 11

Well this week I decided to do a card instead of a layout. I was looking through the gallery and found the card done by varyscrappy for world card making day. I loved how she did it. So I took it as inspiration and made my own. I used the Bo Bunny Midnight Frost Line, and this is what I came up with....

Here is the one from Varyscrappy
Here is my version. Let's see what you can do.

Tuesday's Temptations

Ok fellow scrappers, as I said  last week I am going to show you some things you can do with the Echo Park Apothocary line that are not Halloween related. Here is a beautiful wedding layout with black CS and the back side of the Hypnotic Stripe paper. I misted the leaves that came with the kit from a brown to a shimmery black and used one of the bingo cards for an embellishment. Let's see what non Halloween layout you can create with this line.

Finally Friday Nov.4-Border Bliss

Well for this weeks challenge I did not pick a sketch. Instead I used a Technique Tuesday Tile for my inspiration. I chose it first and then picked some summer pictures and went to work. I inked the tile with 3-4 colors of blue and then chose a background paper to go with it. I matted the pictures on white and inked the edges. So my challenge this week is to use or make some type of border around your page.

Ahhhhhhhh  warm summer memories.

Tuesday's Temptations

Starting this month we will be posting our weekly challenges on Tuesday, hence the Tuesday's Temptations. We would like to tempt you to try some of the challenges and join us here at Scraptures. Up this month is Echo Park Apothocary Line. I will be showcasing how versatile this line can be. Starting out is a layout for.....Halloween of all things. I used the Festive (orange Card stock) and the Technique Tuesday Tile.  I fussy cut ou the tree and moon, and then added a couple embellishments. Sort of simple but I like it!!!!!
