Happy New Year

Well it has been quite a year. Buying a new business, having 2 teenagers in high school, 1 of them learning to drive, turning 40....it has been a busy year, and here it is almost at an end. I have to say thanks to all the Scraptures supporters and my friends and family for sticking with me through thick and thin. I have had a lot of suggestions for things to do and try and I hope to implement a few in the New Year but the best advice has been to stick with it. I hope to see more of you around the Forums and even more of your wonderful scrappy projects in the Gallery. My wish for you is to have a Wonderful and Prosperous New Year!

Tuesday's Temptations

Well this is the final challenge for the month of December. Varyscrappy was GOTM for the SB kit-Bo Bunny Blitzen line. For the final week she created another original sketch and did a layout along with it. Here is a look at what she created.
Great Job!

Merry Christmas

Well it is late on Christmas day and I have had 2 substantial naps today. We went to bed about 1 a.m. and were up at 7. We were waiting for our son to go to sleep so we could set up the drum set in the rec room for the family gift. About 8:30 we were done and my parents were not due for breakfast until about 10:30 and I needed to sleep. We are very blessed each year and this year was no different. Both my kids got what they asked for and this year I spoiled my husband. I got exactly what I wanted plus a couple surprises thrown in
.
When I first bought Scraptures in July I was scared to death. But thanks to the support of my wonderful husband and 2 BFF's it has been a great ride. Many ups and downs but overall I am thrilled to be apart of this wonderful world.

My wish to you all is a wonderful holiday season and a prosperous New Year!

Merry Christmas.

Finally Friday

Well folks, tomorrow is Christmas Eve. I have not been very crafty since my surgery however I have done 2 calendars and 3 Winter Survival Kits. My challenge for you for this week is to create an altered item or show us one if you already have done so. You have until the end of the year as I will be taking some time off over the holidays so I think this will be the year end Finally Friday...we'll see how crafty I am feeling after the holidays. Here is front and back views of the paint cans I did (I have also used new solid paint cans not clear). I usually fill them with a mug, some hot beverage Kleenex, hand sanitizer, cough drops, gloves...anything you may need to get through the winter. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

Tuesday's Temptations

Varyscrappy is at it again...
Here is a cute card that I did using scraps from my December Scrapbook Kit.
  • I just cut four 1 inch wide strips of paper and punched four 1 inch circles out of the same paper.
  • I then cut a scrap piece of paper smaller than the combined width of my strips and a little shorter than the strips and adhered the strips to that
  • Then clued the circles to the strips
  • Punched a border with a scrap of red cardstock
  • Adhered it on top to hide where the circles meet the strips
  • Wrapped my ribbon around the cardstock then glued that whole piece to the front of my card
  • Stamped my quote and glued it so that it was under the flower....and viola you have a card!

Tuesday's Temptations

This week I decided to show you some of the beautiful cards our guest designer Chelle has done with the kit. For this weeks challenge she has asked us to use a large(ish) bow and 1 stamp on your card. Here is what she did with the Card Kit by Teresa Collins (Christmas Home)
Isn't it beautiful???

Finally Friday Dec. 9th, 2011

This week is going to be an easy one for you, I chose a layout from the Scraptures Gallery done by Inspired Scrapper that I really liked, and I want to see you scraplift it. You can use the December kit if you have it and do a Christmas layout instead, but if not let's see what you can do with it.
I will show you my take on it when I get it done!

Tuesdays Temptations

  1. Varyscrappy is our GOTM for December and this is what she had to say....

So this week's challenge was quite a challenge for me in 2 ways. Number one, I wanted to create my own layout and use it as a sketch. This was a challenge for me simply because I have based most of my layouts in the last few months on other sketches and not solely my own design. So I sat for quite a while staring at my papers until something (slowly rolleyes ) came to me. Number two, it was a challenge for me to create a layout without having a specific photo to put on it. Christa does this all the time, but it is a hard concept for me to wrap my head around!

Leave her some love and let's see what you can do!

Finally Friday

Well all December is finally , or should I say already here. This weeks sketch is brought to you from Scrapbooketc.com I was looking for a layout to use an 8 x 10" photo and came across this one. I used the November card kit My Minds Eye Lost & Found Christmas. The browns and Burgundy of this line were great together as this picture had a lot of white space in it. This weeks challenge is to use a larger picture, 5 x 7 or
8 x 10. Let's see what you can do with it.
